Delays In Cervical Screening Results

Have you had a cervical screening recently and not had your results yet?

As you may be aware, there are currently delays for people receiving the results from their cervical screening.
This is as a result of the introduction of primary HPV testing as part of the NHS cervical screening program. This should be fully implemented by 2020.
Letters are usually issued within 14 days of the original sample-taking appointment, however, NHS England are aware people across England are currently experiencing longer waits.
While the level of delay is unlikely to cause or increase the risk of clinical harm, NHS England advise that this should not have implications for any subsequent treatment that is required.

We would like to emphasis that for our patients samples will continue to be taken and the results returned in the normal way.
