Student & Trainee Information

Induction

All our trainees and students are asked to attend Trinity Medical Centre in Wakefield for their first induction.

You will be given a tour around the surgery and a short introduction to our clinical and administrative systems by our Operations Manager. During the induction you will be given information about the practice, we will outline our basic policies and procedures, and any questions about your time with the surgery can be discussed. You will be also asked to read and sign some documents before you can start your placement. This includes a contact details form including an emergency contact.

Before your induction you will be sent a timetable showing you your schedule of surgeries/training. For students this will outline the whole of your time with us. For GP Registrars and FY2’s this will outline your first 2 weeks of introduction and then you will be given a regular surgery schedule.

Students will be required to work across both sites. Please make sure you have means of travelling between the 2 sites. Information on public transport can be found on the sub pages.

BEFORE YOU START

Before you start your first day we will need your Smartcard Number (if you have one) and your Car Registration Plate to add onto our systems.

Dress Code

We expect all doctors and students to dress smartly and have a professional appearance when representing the surgery.

Facilities

Both sites have basic cooking facilities and hot drink facilities as well as staff only toilets.
